A Community Outreach Program by
More To Love Plus-Size Consignment

Our Mission
To make quality, size-inclusive clothing accessible to everyone — while reducing waste, strengthening community partnerships, and restoring dignity through choice.
What We Do
The Curvy Closet was created to make better use of the donations generated through More To Love Plus-Size Consignment. After six years of donating the shop’s unsold and unaccepted inventory — often to wonderful partners who eventually became full simply because of the volume we produced — I wanted to create a more intentional system. We’re no longer just donating; we’re doing it in a new, more direct way that aims to have a larger impact and ease the stress organizations face when managing clothing donations.
Through nonprofit partnerships, inclusive pop-up closets, and tailored donation bin delivery, we ensure that high-quality, relevant plus-size clothing reaches people who need it most. And because we’re no longer limited by who has storage space, any organization can request the specific items they need — keeping our outreach flexible, sustainable, and community-driven.
Outreach Objectives
- Increase access to quality plus-size clothing for people facing financial hardship.
- Network directly with local nonprofits to ensure maximum impact and equitable distribution.
- Reduce clothing waste by redistributing unsold and unaccepted apparel through intentional giving.
Why This Outreach Is Needed
- Finding plus-size clothing is already challenging, even before financial and accessibility constraints are taken into account.
- Plus-size people often face additional barriers during job interviews and other opportunities due to stigma and appearance-based bias.
- Many nonprofits serve clients who need inclusive clothing but lack the space or staff to sort and store donations.
- Local clothing closets and drives often have thousands of garments, but very few plus-size.
How The Curvy Closet Will Help
- Partners with local nonprofits and mutual aid groups to host inclusive pop-up closets and provide pre-sorted donation bins that we refill as needed — eliminating the need for large storage while ensuring continuous access.
- Ensures donations are not only quality but relevant — job-interview clothing for career centers, warm layers for the houseless, and comfort items for those in recovery or transition.
- Vouchers will be available for purchase by community members and can be requested by partner organizations for clients who did not find what they needed from donations or who have immediate clothing needs. (Coming Soon)
- Builds a sustainable, community-based network that reduces waste, strengthens partnerships, and expands access to inclusive resources year-round.
